These are the Reborn Doll Artists who create individual and very unique one of a kind Reborn Baby Dolls, starting from their own sculpts or the molded sculpt of a Professional Sculpting Artists such as Adrie Stoete, Marissa May and many more.
These fabulous dolls are called OOAK REBORN DOLLS because they are ONE OF A KIND, just like REAL LIFE BABIES.
No two OOAK REBORN DOLLS are alike since they are painstakingly hand created, one at a time from vinyl baby dolls or from Sculpts & Kits made by Sculpting Artists.
Some of the sculpts are Limited Edition Releases of 200 - 500 molded reproductions. True OOAK reborn dolls are even actual 'one of a kind' clay sculpts, not reproduced and reborned only once to produce a true OOAK doll. This means there was only one sculpt made, no molds or reproductions and this sculpt was reborned just once into the finished OOAK creation.
Almost all of the talented and even famous Reborn Doll Artists create their One of a Kind Reborn Dolls out of a molded reproduction or Ltd Edition Sculpt, which includes a head/face, realistically sculpted limbs, quality jointed soft cloth or doe suede bodies, glass or polymer eyes, quality mohair micro rooted baby hair, flesh tone Genesis heat set paints and dozens of other materials. They spend 2 weeks or more, carefully layering the genesis heat set paints into realistic skin tones, blotches, wrinkles, moisture, skin texture, veining, blemishes and character. The hair is applied 1-3 strands at a time with a process called micro-rooting. Eyelashes are applied after the eyes are inserted and the nostrils and mouth are opened and detailed with moisture, wrinkles, saliva, bubbles & bubbles.
By the time the artist is finished, the doll is no longer recognizable as the molded sculpt, but has instead taken on it's very individual characteristics, blemishes, quirky facial expressions and body type.
